Obama Deserves No Credit For Iraq Progress

Barack Obama didn’t say much about American soldiers leaving urban areas of Iraq on June 30.

He didn’t say much because, well, he couldn’t. The community organizer-in-chief opposed the U.S. invasion before he even made it to Congress. He voted against war-funding legislation that did not include arbitrary timelines to withdraw troops. And he has consistently mocked our soldiers’ efforts in the field and the previous administration’s foreign-policy achievements.

To liberals’ standards, Obama has been almost the perfect anti-war left-winger. If it weren’t for that whole Afghanistan thing and for the fact combat troops must remain in Iraq to ensure the country does not fall into the hands of terrorists and thugs, Obama would be the poster boy of liberal heroics.

But almost living up to those lowly standards is more than enough to render Obama’s presidency an utter failure. Even if he manages to do something right within the next three years, he’s still a failure. Most Americans – liberals not included – don’t do socialism well. And most Americans – liberals not included – don’t want a weak little jackass for president.

Most Americans – liberals not included – want to see courage, honor, and character from their president. Obama offers none of those things.

So when he did not even acknowledge the work and achievements of the Bush administration while briefly congratulating Iraqis on their little milestone, Obama became an even bigger coward.

The irony here is that he should not have said anything in the first place. When he does speak, nothing good comes of it. When he remains silent, such as when innocent Iranians are murdered by their government in the streets and when North Korea launches missiles and threatens to make war, nothing good comes of it. Holy shit, this guy is pretty useless.

But since  he did speak on June 30, he should have mentioned those Bush Republicans he hates so much. It is because of them U.S. troops were put in a position to succeed in Iraq. Democrats, including Obama, wanted no part of any success in that country. They wanted failure, because failure meant political expediency. They wanted their comparisons to Vietnam. They wanted to roll around in their limitless cowardice. They wanted defeat.

Because Dems and liberals are good at defeat. They embrace it.

A quick Google search of Democrats’ quotes on the run-up to the Iraq invasion and their positions following the March 2003 action shows a long, long list of liberals who supported – and voted – for that invasion. It shows people like Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton, John Kerry, John Edwards, Robert Byrd, and Nancy Pelosi condemning Saddam Hussein and calling for George Bush to wage war.

It lists every senator and every representative – Republican and Democrat – who voted to give Bush authorization to wage war. It reminds us that Bill Clinton – not Bush – spearheaded legislation supporting regime change in Iraq. It reminds us Clinton waged his own little war in Iraq not long before Bush took office. It reminds us how many Democrats changed their positions when they realized it would benefit them at the polls. It reminds us these very people are just as weak as Obama, that they are all liars, and that they they are bad for America.

Whatever good comes out of Iraq will be because of Bush’s refusal to welcome defeat. And whatever bad happens will be Obama’s fault. Yes, that fascist asshole will eventually have to hold himself accountable for something. Iraq is his chance. Matter of fact, everything happening under Obama’s watch is and will be because of left-wingers. No one else can be blamed.

And this new progress in Iraq shouldn’t be confused with Obama’s empty promises of change. Obama had nothing to do with it – absolutely nothing. In fact, he hindered progress in that country, as did all those lying liberals who initially supported Bush and the invasion and then backtracked because spineless Americans at home thought the war would last a couple of days and then all would be forgotten.

Indeed, those who voted for Obama and that Democratic supermajority in Congress deserve every ounce of misfortune the coward-in-chief brings over the next four years. Huge deficits, huge government, socialized medicine, rising unemployment, increasing threats abroad, more taxes, more anti-Americanism.

This is the change Obama was really talking about. To those anti-war defeatists, I say: F you. To Obama, I say: 2012 can’t come soon enough. To all true Americans, I say: Happy Independence Day.
